seriously brief
Okay, this has got to be really short because I'm updating from John's phone since we don't have internet at home, but I wanted to let everyone know that we had another great day. We came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon, which was really hard, as we had to leave sweet Becca behind. But she's right where she needs to be and getting great care. I'm still achey, sore, exhausted, and emotional, but we couldn't be more thrilled with Becca's progress. They were able to put in a PICC line this morning - another first for a baby her size - and they are hoping to be able to start feeding her some of my milk tomorrow! That's great news, and everyday she holds her own is a blessing! I hope to have new pictures to share soon - she's even cuter than before!

ReplyDeleteNancy and John,
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear of big steps by a tiny girl, and I ache for all of you because this must be so hard and wonderful and over-filling.
Becca has a powerful will to grow and thrive, and this little soul has landed in a wonderful nest of love and hope. I hope that you two feel tangibly the love and hope that others send you to feather the nest and to add to it when you feel you have no more to add. So do keep accepting the help of others, and being good to you so you can be good to her.
each moment for you, a gift; each moment from us, a prayer.
So glad you guys are doing so well. This has to be a very stressful time. New city, new jobs, major surgery and a baby born wihtin a very short time! Please note that you, John and Becca continue to be in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteSuch a surprise to read about Becca .. .We have been out of town and were never "in the loop" anyway, but we are concerned about you guys. Sounds like Becca is a fighter and you are powerful prayer warriors. We will add our prayers. .
ReplyDeleteI am a stranger to you, but not of your story. I too delivered early from Pre-E. Isabella was in the NICU 3 at Shands University of Florida.... like baby Becca's care- the teaching hospitals provide top of the line help in every way.
ReplyDeleteWhen you said she sounded like a kitten, I got chills... I know that beautiful sound, and called it the same thing. I do hope they have introduced the breast milk the healing multiplies ... the night she was given BM for the first time...calls went out across the country. It is such a simple thing for most moms... but to us it is a victory! I remember being so thrilled she got an ounce down.... You too will see these days, and I have faith your little mighty Becca will prevail! My thoughts will be with you and many prayers from down south.
God Bless, and keep believing.
Chantel
